The kids have suffered enough. Other states have proven that the can play safe. It is time for our kids to be given that opportunity. Mental wellness is at stake. Don’t make it even harder on these kids claiming it’s because of science. These kids aren’t the ones spreading the virus. To be desperately dependent on the infection rates of people that don’t have a vested interest in the athletic participation of these kids is foolish and unfair

If NYC area schools are allowed to play then there is no reason these Albany County kids cannot play. The numbers are low for these kids and although Albany County is above 4%, the elderly numbers should not be used to determine if these kids can play. This pandemic has done enough damage to these kids and their mental health is by far more at risk than the probability of them getting COVID. The governor said they can play and they should be allowed to.

Stop making this about politics. Don’t randomize statements like, “we can’t just ignore science”. You are completely ignoring the science of infection rate for students. Forget that suicide, drug use and criminal activity is up because these kids have no outlet. Let them play. It can be done safely. They go to school safely so why can’t they play safely. LET THEM PLAY!!!
