Disgusted! Completely unacceptable racial profiling - New Zealand catches up to Australia in debasing narrow minded behaviour towards 'other' nationalities.

Rokhsareh Ghaemmaghami is not going to overstay her visitor's visa. It would be great if she did stay in New Zealand permanently, but there is no chance that this will happen, so please just give her a visa to come to the festival.

NZIS should reconsider and grant the director a visitor permit. She is hardly going to want to stay in NZ when she has a successful international career. How embarrassing that NZ Immigration has made such a ridiculous assumption.

I'm shocked that we have behaved with such discourtesy to a distinguished international filmmaker. Please reverse the decision and offer an apology.

Having met Rokhsareh while travelling in Asia it is concerning that NZ has denied her visa based on race. Shouldn't her travel history (travelling many countries to attend film festivals) be sufficient proof of her reasons to visit and her intents to depart as per her schedule.
I am embarrassed to have suggested to Rokhsareh that New Zealand is a progressive country.

I'm an NZ actor studying in London and I refuse to work in a country that doesn't encourage growth within it's theatre. This is a perfect opportunity to give our theatre scene the well needed kick up the arse it's been waiting for so long now.
