I myself have had my share of cultural insensitivity and prejudice by an instructor , asking me if I have any problem with her because I'm middle eastern and she is Jewish !!! Definitely need some cultural awareness training for this specific instructor. the word is "cultural awareness and humility ".

I give my full support to this petition. These changes are necessary to ensure personal and professional freedom and academic investigation for everyone who comes in contact with the Lesley community. As Ponterotto (1993) states, "Race appreciation is a lifelong developmental process that begins with a healthy sense of one’s own racial/ethnic identity/heritage.
We must feel good about and respect ourselves before we can do that with and for other people." Start at home Lesley.
