My Mum is buried here. Coventry City Council are fundamentally incompetent across the board, from their Social Work Department right through housing and onto cemetery conditions - they are quick enough to take £1,990 or more for us to bury our loved ones and yet they can't be bothered to resolve this/they say that they can't. Coventry City Council should be sued for this and we should get our money back. We've paid for a service and we do not get it - we have a lease for 75 years I believe so we are not buying the land outright. Coventry could have and should have investigated the suitability of this land and i'm sure they were aware of the issues - i bet it worked out cheap. What have they actually done with our money to run the cemetery exactly?

My dad is laid to rest in Lentons Lane but we are lucky that his grave has not been flooded. It breaks my heart to see the flooded graves & I feel so sorry for the relatives to see them in this state. My mum was visiting my dad's grave one day & she heard a little voice calling "help me", she then saw an elderly lady who had slipped while visiting her husbands grave on the mud & could not get up. My mum is elderly herself & could not pick the lady up, so she went to get help from some men who were working on a gravestone nearby. Something needs to be done & quickly.

Having seen the photos in the telegraph I feel it is imperative that the council do what's necessary to prevent escalated flooding and make it easier for people to perform the burial of their relatives.

Something needs to be done. I understand this is down to weather but this is not a respectful way for our relatives to rest. It is also causing issues for some people to visit family resting places. I have a 3 year old and 3 months old daughter she would need to be in a pushchair I wouldn't be able to take her with me. My grandad is a wheel chair user meaning he wouldn't be able to visit either. It's not fair and the council need to figure out a better drainage system or pathway etc so visiting it possible. We spend a lot of money making graces look pretty, have things the kids make for loved ones etc and it's getting destroyed due to the conditions the grace yard is in.

The council need to come up with a long term permanant solution...not just short term quick solution.
