Good news. The Coffs Council have finally made a decision regarding the renaming of the Nana Glen Sports Ground. This snippet was part of the 'New council, no dramas' article on page 6 of the Coffs Coast Advocate , Saturday 15th October edition.
'The renaming of the Nana Glen Sportsground created the biggest discussion out of all the items on the agenda.
The proposal was to rename it Len Towells Oval but Cr John Arkan said it should include Nana Glen in its title to make it more of a destination.
"We need to keep identifying Nana Glen has a sporting ground, which completes the village," Cr Arkan said.
"I just want to make sure we maintain the name Nana Glen in the title."
Cr Paul Amos said a sunset period should be introduced with renamings to ensure it remained relevant in coming decades.
The renaming of Len Towells Oval was unanimously passed and the change in signage is estimated to cost $1500, to be considered in future funding cycles.'
So Uncle Mick your name will be remembered by many who have and will use the grounds that you worked tirelessly to help to maintain. May you always enjoy the cricket that you are now playing. We love you and miss you.

Len was a kind and generous friend ,as he was to the whole Nana Glen Community , he taught me so much in the time l knew him , and will be missed by many .

He taught my my dad how to be a lumberjack, my dad taught him how be a hippy. I will never forget him or Paddy Johnson. Anyone in Coffs Harbour timber history will know who I am talking about. RIP Lenny, Does he still have the rollie hang out of the the side of his mouth?
