this is ridiculous. you should be able to dress how you want. waccamaw can’t tell you who you should be. they should be more worried about education than what people wear. that just shows you what kind of school waccamaw is. you can be whoever you want and no one can tell you otherwise PERIOD

This is absurd. How does how one student dresses affect the rest of the class? This is 100% uncalled for and needs to be changed immediately. They are a good student and will be dressing formal, they’d just prefer not to wear a dress. If a girl decided to wear a blouse and dress pants instead of a dress, would you admonish her by forcing her to sit apart from her class? I don’t think so, so why would you force Abi to sit away from her class for wearing a formal suit? It’s appropriate for the occasion, but your behavior is not.

As a grown person, they should be allowed to make a choice regarding how to dress for graduation, and the school should have no right to require a gender to wear specific garments. school should be a place where diversity and individuality is praised not restricted.
