Is there nobody to shout stop to the GAA despoiling the name and legacy of Leitrim's most renowned citizen by adding the name of a credit card company to Páirc Seán Mac Diarmada?Bad enough that not one single GAA club in Leitrim is named after him (while several other clubs bear his name) but now the county pitch name is to be sold to the highest bidder. Will the Avantcard logo appear on the tricolour that flies over Páirc Seán MacDiarmada from now on? It may as well because the name of the man who ensured its existence is now to be similarly defiled

The groundswell of opposition to this sellout shows that people will not stand by while our history is treated as a commodity. Post the link to your Facebook feed today to keep the pressure on the board. Email your local county board representative and tell them to protect the legacy of Seán MacDiarmada.

Yea trust the Gaa? Money making machine, disgrace. Honour Ireland’s 1916 patriots.
Absolute shame on the county board. Selling our history for a few quid is a disgrace to every man who fought for this country.

Disgraceful behavior from the GAA. They have no respect for our heroes.
No greater love hath any man than to sacrifice his life for his people and country , truly a disgraceful act to Sean MacDiarmada and every one of Ireland`s patriots [ silence}of our people makes it ok to disrespect our patriot dead let your voice be heard sign NO on the petition and ask family and friends to sign also ,honour and respect before greed and dishonour god bless the cause for which they lived and died ,
