Deadly traps have been set, legally, on crown land, near recreational areas without any warnings or precautions to protect our children or pets. At least one family pet has been killed and two more nearly died this trapping season in BC. We, the undersigned, want the public to be informed, when they are entering crown land, of the potential of active trapping as well as the dates of trapping season.

Live trapping is an unhumane method. Wild animals have been known to chew their legs off in an attempt to get away. Precious pets have been killed. Are we waiting for some child to undergo the same fate?

We go hiking all the time near Chilliwack and had no idea about this. Really scary to think about what could happen to my grandkids.

My dog almost got caught in one of these last month while we were out hiking. It was terrifying. People need to know these are out there.

Too many pets are dying. Just put up some warning signs if you have to have these traps. It's not that hard.

THESE TRAPS ARE BARBARIC. Keep them away from trails where families walk. It is just a matter of time before a kid gets hurt.

Banning these would be best but signage is the bare minimum. My beagle barely made it out alive from a trap last year.
