cannabis is healtier than lettus. So lettus have it. its not toxic like tobacco or alcohol. Smoking it actually lowers risk of lung cancer. Eating it is a healthy as eating a vege and it comes with health benefits and a buzz

It was brought to my attention the idea that it's costing the nz government more money to criminalize marijuana than it would to legalize it. If alcohol (a drug directly associated to domestic violence, car accidents and death) is legal, than why not cannabis? Something that I think us users can say for ourselves is much more safer, and better to use.

Keeping marijuana illegal only empowers gangs and prevents people from making decisions about their own body. Given the rampant drinking problem in this country, I think this is pure hypocrisy. I think that its medicinal uses should be fully explored - and offered by the public health system - but I also believe individuals should have the right to grow their own, and it should be sold and taxed. There is no sane, logical reason not to do this, as the benefits of doing so far outweigh the draw-backs (and the US has proven this).
It's pretty sad when New Zealand is BEHIND the most unevolved nation on the planet.
