I wish all cities/towns would allow people to keep chickens and bees. or at least have a few community coops and hives.

I know a lot of people that would love to have chickens and bees including myself; to be able to have some self sustainability would allow a lot of families to save money. SAVE THE MIDDLE AND LOWER CLASS!!

I grew container vegetables this year, lots of flowers but no fruit. We need more bees.

We must show common sense and respect for self-reliance as we move into an uncertain future. Please legalize the birds and the bees!

An idea that is supported in other towns and cities in BC. With proper oversight, and some rules, Castlegar should at least try it.

Can't wait to see Chickens & Bees allowed in the City, Tons of us want to garden and provide safe organic food for our family and chickens and bees are needed to do so.

Backyard chickens would be a huge help in composting all the food scraps, turning them into fertilizer instead of bear bait, with our 2-times-monthly garbage collection schedule. The City should be encouraging sustainability, including growing our own fruits, veggies, eggs, and even meats where possible. Chickens would cause way less trouble than dogs or cats do, and these animals are tolerated everywhere. Please give this idea another chance!

This change benefits our community by promoting sustainability. Please ammend the bylaw.

I believe we, as citizens, have the right to fresh food. Too many food products are mass produces using chemicals and by products. I would love nothing more than to see children in Castlegar learn from raising chickens and how bees affect our ecosystem and the rewards involved in creating your own sustainable food source. Please consider this as Castlegar has been a town that has embraced all kinds of change.
