Recreational marijuana needs to be legal. it would be nice for federal law to allow marijuana usage. Marijuana is only illegal because hemp would put lumber out of business because it is stronger, cheaper, and more efficient. Recreational marijuana is no harm as long as people use it safely, such as in their own home. There are 0 deaths from marijuana, but there are over 200,000 from alcohol each year! The age for recreational marijuana should be 18+, and any age for medical treatment if a patient truly needs it. Legal Marijuana would decrease the use among teens and children. The illegality of the plant makes it more valuable. It will also keep innocent teens out of the illegal drug trade. There would be reduced flow of money to criminal gangs and cartels, as they would no longer make money off of it, if it would be legal. Farmers would be permitted to grow hemp, creating more efficient rope, paper and other lumber based products. It is scientifically proven that marijuana is harmless to humans, as overdose is impossible. Law enforcement should focus on getting hard drugs off the street instead of arresting over 800,000 people a year for small amounts of marijuana.
