I think it's a wonderful idea to allow laying hens in town. As long as they are well kept and not bothering anyone I don't see an issue!

The ordinance that allowed for the small chicken house gives the homeowner a vested right to continue on as long as he is operating within the laws. Until there is substantial proof of wrongdoing there is nothing that the city can do to the home owner.

Please keep the chickens around! I myself have had chickens in town, and out, and they are just fanatic to watch and take care of.

Backyard chickens should not be to blame for spreading bird flu...the CDC states clearly that it is a naturally occurring virus in waterfowl...and there's no stopping ducks or other aquatic birds from roaming around.

My brother in laws chickens are 100+ feet from the road, tucked between and shed and garage, pinned in, and take up all of 25sq ft in the back yard. They are also 100+ feet from any neighbor. They cause no harm or distraction to any. Let them stay!

If a city ordinance is not being broken, I don't see how it is fair to take away the right to have chickens in a residential area.
