For some crazy insane, unknown reason, African Pygmy Hedgehogs are illegal in GA.. There are so many people that live in the state of GA that would love to own a hedgehog! I want to start this petition and send it to the DNR to see if this might help them change their law!!! As a breeder in the state of SC, I for sure get a lot of emails regarding my babies from GA residents and I have to turn them down just because of the law and Im kinda tired of it. Hedgehogs are able to be bred by licensed USDA breeders, but can't be owned by a regular resident? Some places even make people buy permits and I bet if GA even done that them people would be happy.

Why must they be illegal? They're caged animals. I would understand some snakes and harmful animals. But we are talking about an animal that weighs less then my moms 3pound teacup chihuahua. I love what I do, and I want people to enjoy these babies too. They are very unique animals.

Hopefully if I can get enough signatures,we will be able to change the law!
