Street food vendors have to jump through so many hoops already. Bloomington should support all small businesses!

Food trucks are not in competition to business that are not open at later hours. To think my burrito man outside of XYZ bar, is taking away from me eating at a b&m biz (ex. Talent) is ridiculous.

We build food trucks in CT, over the past 8 years it has create over 300 jobs for folks through out the U.S. For a lot of folks this is their life and means to earn a living. I can tell you first hand these mobile food trucks and trailers are NOT cheap to have built, these folks could have easily opened a brick and mortar just like brick & mortars have/had the option to go mobile. This is what makes America a great place, the ability to compete and have an open and free market. Take that away and America will no longer be America. If I want to go to a brick and mortar to eat I do so, if I feel like eatting off a food truck I do so. It has never crossed my mind to stop going to one because of the other. If brick and mortat establishments are complaining, they need to reevaluate their menu's, offerings, and business models because rest assured the food trucks are not causing their decline in business. I've helped several states and towns with suggestions in regards to laws for food trucks and would be willing to assist. If you ban these vendors the next towns over will take advantage of that and allow them, I have seen this time and time again. Stop looking at food trucks as an issue, but start looking at them as jobs created.

It's funny that the government is saying this ordinance is for public safety when in reality it's to protect the taxes the city receives from brick and mortars. Typical, awful government policies that restrict competition.

Food trucks and carts add immensely to a city's vitality, and they don't really compete with bricks and mortar restaurants. If you feel like sitting down and enjoying a liesurely meal, you'll go to a restaurant. If you want to grab a quick bite as you stroll, a food truck fills the bill. There are many U.S. cities that have vibrant restaurant and food truck cultures. Bloomington should join them.
