Alex, that is appalling at every level... for local residents and, I suspect, a nigh time safety hazard for oncoming traffic and anyone trying to cross the road at night. Good luck with this petition !

This intrusive roadside advertising is a source of distraction and should be treated with the same approach as other types of distractions such as texting or calling while driving (ie not be permitted). Highly instructive roadside advertising signs such as this is environmental clutter, which adds additional demands to the driving task. In particular, roadside advertising signs impair eye movement patterns of drivers - this is especially concerning at the location of this advertisement considering its location at two junctions onto a main (A) road.
I note that the advertisement has beached a number of the conditions of its planning consent (2019/4528), specifically conditions 2a (not to endanger persons using the highway), 3 (not to impair the visual amenity of the site) and 2 (not to exceed a maximum brightness of 300 candelas per square metre.
It is disappointing that the council have not taken action to address the matter and it is also disappointing to see that the local Earlsfield councillors haven’t taken time out of their relentless promotion of unpopular cycle lanes and 20mph speed limits to address an issue about which local residents actually want action to be taken!

Totally inappropriate for a residential area. I live nearby and have an advertising board in view of my window and I don’t want to see any more advertising like this in the area. Light pollution is disruptive to sleep and can cause headache conditions to worsen.
