The city of Lebanon is going to vote tommorow night on whether LFD should use the fire truck to go get grocery's or something to eat. Whether it's after a call or just to restock. If they live at the fire hall just as much they do at their homes then why make them bring their own food.
The city officials in Lebanon are trying to force our firefighters to starve while they are out working to keep us safe. This nitpicking policy is an absolute insult to the men and women who put their lives on the line every shift. We are going to make it impossible for them to ignore the reality of what these crews actually do.

The massive surge in backing shows that Lebanon residents are fed up with these petty bureaucrats attacking our firefighters over a simple grocery run. City officials can no longer pretend this is just a minor complaint while thousands of us demand they stop wasting time on this nonsense.

I back the FD and agree that it is great PR. It also makes it easier for people to see you in public and know who the people are that protect their town. Think of it this way if they were to leave in their personal vehicle it will take them that much longer to get back to the station to respond to YOUR emergency.

Do you not want revenue generated in your town. If you have firefighters bring food in they will spen their money elsewhere. I do not see the big deal a rig on the street being seen by the public is better that it sitting in quarters. Why is this an issue it take an hour at the most.

What is the reason behind this? Does public works drive the city vehicles to lunch or stop by a convenience store for a snack? Is the Police Department allowed to do the same? A Fire apparatus is designed to be used, sitting in the truck bay will not extend its life. Actually normal driving is good for the apparatus, this can also be used for training for when the tones drop and it's time to respond in emergency mode. Theses issues usually arise from someone who has not really thought the whole situation out but think they have a great idea.

Should be allowed to. These trucks need to be out on the road more to keep everything working well not sitting in bays just waiting.

They should be allowed. Maintaining availability and good public relations is part of the fire fighters duties
