Keep up the good work, we can't entice visitors to our area if it's filthy. When I first moved here, I remember thinking it's so clean. People need to stop throwing their garbage on the side of the road. You made it, so dispose of it properly.the county should help, they spent thousands on sidewalks that no one uses a few years ago.

Here's a recap in case you don't check the highlights: I was contacted today by Raymond, of Leaven No Trace. Here's the message he shared:Just talked to Bill Richardson. Manager of Les Sanitation and they will be taking the trash the tires are the only problem now....how do we deal with 10's of 1000's of tires? Way to go people! There's a long way to go still, but we're already making a difference! Keep sharing this petition, we need as much support as we can get! Be a part of the solution, not the problem :-)

As a former resident growing up in a small Coastal town, with beaches, sand dunes, wetlands. A mother and her son have spearheaded Leavin No Trace (which does have Facebook page which has amazing photos updates and events. Really not many have helped them. If I hadn't just been diagnosed with Breast Cancer, I would be helping. Check out Leaven no Trace on their story and photos. Wish it could be a feel good story on National TV! Thank you for your time and consideration, Cindi

I was wondering how long till this happened. A few people doing the work of many....hauling out garbage dumped for years....sooner or later (or right now) it becomes obvious that city/county leaders are going to have to pay attention and decide if they are going to do their part. Yeah, it will cost, but it is so worth it. Look what an inspiration this young man is! He is making us all take a closer look at what has been hidden. GARBAGE. Doesn't it make you feel kind of sick Libby has just been a dumping ground all this time? Like if we can't see it, it's not there? Shame on the ones who have been dumping there for years. He is getting our attention! Those who volunteer with him....getting our attention. Step up and do what is right Coos Bay and Coos County...whoever is responsible for removing the garbage. No longer out of sight, out of mind....it's in your face. Let's do this. Let us start to be proud of the cleanups...wherever they might be.

These people are cleaning up thousands of tires and trash trying to get our county cleaned up! It takes time and dedication to clean up other people's trash! I hope more people can get involved and help these great people change our county for the better!!

We pay enough in taxes and they should be used to help clean up

It is ridiculous to ask these concerned citizens to stop cleaning up our forests and waterways.. Absurd!

I believe what these people are doing is wonderful and so helpful to our community. They need to be recognized for their hard work and dedication and our city council should step up and lend a hand by making Les Sanitation go and pick up the garbage and old tires. There is no reason for it just to be left. Clean up Coos County!

Our environment should be protected... This is a great service these people are providing and their labor does not cost the county at all... The least the County can do is pay the disposal fees...

What is wrong with these people!? Why dont our community leaders step up and do something about this? What kind of leaders are you for not helping?? Not only with cleaning up but with preventing things like this from happening again. There has to be some punishment for business/people who dump illegally, why isnt it being enforced? Its disgusting that our city leaders dont seem to care!!
