This should not be aloud to happen. I know or have known many people who have owned Pitbulls. This breed has been unfairly labeled as dangerous when they are not. They are lovable, affectionate and smart. If this family pet has never hurt anyone it should remain with it's family especially considering it's age. It's like forcing your elderly parent into a nursing home or a refugee deported to where they know no one and will likely die alone. Shame on you Arnprior By-law.

I have known this dog for a few years and she is completely harmless!!! She is a member of the family and would probably give her own life to protect the children she has known since birth.

Isn't you dog a mix breed? I would think a DNA test would have to be done to determine exact breed. That the bylaw should have to provide before judging if it's a pure pit or not.

So heart wrenching to see people trying to take your sweet girl away from you. This ban is complete garbage; from shepherds to dobermans to rottweilers and now pit bulls and breeds that resemble them are banned... Best of luck to you and your beautiful family, sending all of my love and positivity your way!

If they had her before the bylaw then she should be able to stay with her family.

This whole discussion of banning pit bulls disturbs me. It is how they are raised. I've heard more stories about small breeds of dogs being more aggressive

So sad :( these dogs are not s dangerous breed, only loving and caring! They should be going after the owners that train them to be aggressive. I hope you get to keep your dog and she gets to live out the rest of her life to the fullest!

This Pitbull ban is disgusting. Not only are they taking away your dog, they are taking away a family member. I would trust a Pitbull over a small type breed like a Chihuahua any day
