I, the undersigned, can no longer watch silently as short-sighted decisions and greed continues to undermine all that makes Pembroke special, and object to the planning application number
PA/05547/18 on the grounds that if the development went ahead, it would result in significant problems, such as but not limited to the following:
•Lack of Sunlight and/or Heat
This will affect:
1.Those who have an installation PV systems, solar water heaters and/or any related equipment which needs sunlight.
2.Residents next door who will be shut out completely from direct sun light, hence affecting the temperature in the premises, the drying of clothes etc.
•An invasion of Privacy
This will affect:
1.Residents with uncovered areas, roofs, outdoor spaces which will be ruined having people looking down upon them.
•Environmental impacts and Pollution
Due to the fact that:
1.The rest of the houses in the street are at the same plan, hence this will be an eyesore.
2.An increase in people, results in noise pollution.
3.More residents means more cars and lack of car spaces, which is already a problem residents are facing in this area.
4.Shutting out direct sun light for residents, will be a shutting out of renewable energy sources as well which is not sustainable at all.
5.The lift room installation would cause more noise nuisance to residents and cause problems to the dranage system.
•Commercial Business and a ‘Go-ahead’ for further Planning Applications
1.Residents agreed to the Development Planning Act 1992 Section 33, upon residing which clearly stated it is a residential area, hence no commercial plans should go through.
2.If this permit goes through, it will encourage further planning applications with the same interest to go forward, ruining the rural side of Pembroke and making it an urban city, the same which happened to Swieqi.
•Negligence and lack of safety
i. An investigation should be carried out to ensure safety for all

Pembroke offers green areas, sea and fresh air. We have sunlight in our streets and homes because of our low-lying buildings. We can install panels on our roofs to reduce our energy bills. And we are very centrally located with just enough parking. We are a community that many other people wish they had. And we have achieved this after many years of hard work and care to build and furnish our homes.
And that is precisely why we need to protect our fragile community from demolition and development.

Bit by bit Pembroke is turning into Swieqi - now is the time to take action. Let's stop this 'sustainable' plan the PA have got in mind and work hand in hand for our locality's future. Allowing such a permit to go through would result into further permits, ruining the rural side of Pembroke.

This is a residential area . Building flats it would turn in a commercial one. These maisonettes were build for families not for commercial and to to business with, like this is intending to do. Also notice Most of architects agreed that the building is only supported for no more than 1 storey

These government maisonettes werent meant to be used commercially this due to greed this will cause various nuisances to neighbours and Pembroke residents if more projects go ahead
