In December 2011 Congress passed the CALM Act. This Act was to take effect in December 2012 requiring all broadcast media to limit sound volume of commercials to match or not exceed the volume set by a user for an ongoing broadcast program. To date, commercial advertisers have circumvented the lawful requirements or entirely and flagrantly disregarding the law. The FCC has a complaint process which is mostly unknown to the general public. Such complaint process is tedious, time-consuming and requires the recordation of the exact commercial advertisement in violation, the program and the broadcast channel (with call letters) to complete and submit for investigation. This is completely unacceptable. The purpose of this petition is to demand that the FCC take more aggressive action in enforcing the CALM Act through whatever means available and hold commercial advertisers accountable. If you have had enough of the "up/down/up/down" volume control issue while trying to relax and enjoy your program, if you are sick and tired of your privacy rights being victimized by being intruded upon by ridiculously load commercials, here's your chance to act.
