There is no justification for allocating this land for housing development. On the one hand their greenspaces strategy seeks to improve green connections between the canal and Victoria Park on the other they plan to build 250 houses. Their landscape assessment identifies no changes in the nature of the landscape since its designation as an area of special county value. If

This area is not only green belt land but has been designated as part of the Peak Park Fringe. No Exceptional circumstances have been put forward to move the Green Belt Boundary. It is a major part of the Macclesfield Green Lung

The land at the Fence Avenue site should not be included in the plan for Macclesfield. Keep the Green Belt Green and focus on Brownfield sites - there are plenty to choose from.

This land has always been a part of my life, growing up beside it i realised that Macclesfield has that unique balance between nessecties such as big supermarkets such as tescos and an abundance of shops and the beautiful countryside right next to it, one mintue you could be enjoying a costa and 10 minitues down the road walking around some of the most beautiful countryside for miles. I think it would be a genuine real shame to slowly watch Macclesfields unique charm such as this to just slip away.
