My ancestors lived in Bell County and I wish this history be left alone. Texans voted to join the Civil War and fight for the South. This is what they did. There is no shame in doing what each state decided. Leave history alone, please. Why destroy our heritage and our past. Texans are better than that. God bless.

Do not remove. I've seen it and read the inscription. It's a memorial to the fallen citizens of Bell County who answered the call to serve -- just like the memorial on the opposite side of the courthouse that honors the local soldiers that died in later wars. Do we remove that one also?
