its our history, wanting us to remove it is offensive to us just like it remaining is supposed to be offensive to them. And who's to say it won't be destroyed or defaced even if its moved? If you allow it to be moved whats next? Where will it end? Im a descendant of two confederate soldiers buried in north belton cemetery, i may not agree with what they fought for, but its still my history, my roots. It should stay

Our history is being dissolved. The group that has petitioned to have it removed have all but called me a racist. I said let the people vote.

I find it absolutely shameful that people are engaging in history erasure as per what ISIS has done in the Middle East. This is a demonstrably foolish and heinous action to take simply because it "offends" someone.

My Great-grandfather, Madison Elliott, was in the Texas 20th Confederate Cavalry. He came back and was a Judge at Tahoka. Leave all the statues alone. Heritage Not Hate! Discrimination against the South is unacceptable. No man should own another!
