The reason for this petition\'s existence is a result of the overall disappointment that every Australian Harry Potter fan feels as a result of the lack of Harry Potter-related events being held in our country. Because of the expense of flying to the distant locations where HP events are held much more regularly (such as the US), it becomes nearly impossible for many of us to attend. We become in a way, isolated from the rest of the Harry Potter Community; unable to participate in the events which are much more easily accessible to those living closer.

The core reason for this was the lack of awareness within the Australian fandom, and as the HP fandom begins to draw to a close with the release of the final book, the future looks bleak. But just the thought of meeting Melissa Anelli, John Noe, Sue Upton, the
I really thought this might just fizzle out like the other attempts so seeing this kind of energy appearing out of nowhere is honestly making my head spin a little. It feels like we are finally being taken seriously after so much silence and even though I am still half expecting someone to tell me it is all a dream I am just going to keep pushing forward.
