We the members of Laxkwalaams, petition the complaints board and elected council to seek the removal of Mayor Garry Reece from office pursuant to Part 6 of the Laxkwalaams Band Election Regulations for the following reasons:
1. Failure to uphold the code of conduct
2. Failure to remove himself from conflict of interest situation
3. Acting Dishonestly in his role
4. Inappropriate conduct leading to disruption of entire community
5. Inappropriate conduct creating inability of council to function

The momentum behind this push proves the community is done with Garry Reece and his toxic leadership. The council can no longer pretend this is just a few unhappy people when the demand for his removal is this loud.

i wud not have signed this petition if it wasnt for the last removal of councilers or depty mayor helen johnson. i believe the councilers were acting in believe of looking out for my people of my beautiful home town of Lax Kw Alaams.
This is not right! Transparency is needed on all business dealings. No one person should have complete control of Band Business.
agreed this shouldnt be happening, think as one councel and then and only then will things fall into place. Stand as a divide and things will pile up and fingers pointed, have repsect for the councel again tough challenge yes but it can be done. No one should be above the law. If the people can be voted in then the people can vote them out. Its a right for all members, and to be put down for it is crazy all should be disappointed in what has happened in the past not be mad at what is happening now
My question is: if these are accurate statements? What grounds would Mr. Reese stand on, to continue representing the over 3,000 band members? with integrity? I want a Leader of Integrity!
He needs to be out, so much has happen while he was in and nothing has been done about it (Money stealing, ex. 500k from the school)
It's time someone is held accountable for pathetic actions!

I believe he should honourably resign, since he admitted to his guilt. The Code of Conduct was put in place for a reason, why should an individual have immunity.
