The L Word is the longest running, groundbreaking drama series for SHOWTIME. For fans of this series, TiBette, portrayed by Laurel Holloman and Jennifer Beals, have become many fans favorite couple because they tell their story lovingly and very convincingly. They breathe real life into these characters, thus, making TiBette a seemingly separate entity. But more than that, As Tina and Bette, Laurel and Jennifer have given a voice to millions who were once afraid to be open about their sexuality. And Jennifer lends her time and voice to many LGBT causes, thereby, becoming an icon for the community. Laurel and Jennifer have committed so much time and attention to TiBette over the years, while maintaining their real families' daily lives. I am a fan of these amazing and talented women, and the voice of what I believe have been overlooked for too long. Even those that are not fans of TiBette's love story because of the lifestyle conveyed, have now become intolerant to the mistreatment of LGBTs, and understanding of their rights. With The L Word going into it's sixth and final season, it is time for Laurel and Jennifer to finally be acknowledged for their talented work. We, the undersigned fans, would like to petition the Academy of Television, Arts, and Sciences (ATAS) and it's associates, to help us succeed in making this happen for the 2010 awards season!
