The feedback I have received from fellow Zanzibaris reflects a profound commitment to our historical and legal rights regarding Latham Island. I am currently preparing a formal memorandum to outline our position for the relevant authorities. Further updates will follow once I have secured a meeting to discuss these claims.

Latham Island belongs to Zanzibar since the days Tanganyika was not recognised and there is no any prove there was change of ownership for it registered anywhere.
Tanzanian government has to respect the Union constitution as well as the Zanzibar constitution. Enough with this big brother small brother nonsense. The union is between 2 equally sovereign states.
Tangu nizaliwe 1948 nafahamu kisiwa cha fungi mbaraka ni sehemu ya ZANZIBAR na sio Tanganyika. Nawakitaka kujuwa wakati wa Zenj Empire east coastline ni Zanzibar.
Latham Island was always part of the Zanzibar archipelago. The flag of Zanzibar was raised there every year before 1964 to secure the island.
Zanzibar will always and is and was have latham island within its borders. Just because we are part of Republic doesnt mean we are surrendering our sovereignty. Even if im CCM born but ZANZIBAR comes first
Kwani hiki kisiwa kipo umbali gani kutoka Zanzibar, na pia kipo umbali gani kutoka Tanganyika. Nafikiri jibu mnalo.
Latham island is among 50 of Zanzibar's Islands territory....

With all the evidence and accounts dated as far back as the 1800's, this island is the rightful property of Zanzibar. The so-called Tanganyika has no legitimate right of this island Tanganyika should not, and really should not claim any sovereignty of this island. Greed does not have any chance here. Keep off this island and the waters that surround it. KEEP OFF.
