We the undersigned, residents of Lebanon, New Hampshire, are writing to ask you to seriously consider a change in the start times for classes at Lebanon High School and Lebanon Middle School. A recent recommendation from the American Academy of Pediatrics calls for school start times for adolescents no earlier than 8:30 a.m. because of many measurable benefits for students, including improvements in physical and mental health, reductions in teen driving accidents, lower rates of absenteeism and tardiness and improvements in academic performance.
