the goal of an update is to make the previous version better. The new last.fm beta is a perfect example of a total fail in achieving just that.

I hate the new layout, it's confusing, webby and irritating, looks like some features have been taken away simple ones like find a group, add friend, shortened character count on the profile "about me" even the ugly circular profile picture to the banner, the layout of artists is all ugly, why fix what wasn't broken?

my late highschool sweetheart introduced me to last.fm in 2010, and i learned how wonderful music can be. i would use it any time free wifi was available, and went to great lengths get around the times when it wasn't. I fear change as much as the next human, but i try to keep an open mind. I have no problem with a website i use trying to advance its profile, but i am hurt that my favorite website would make for the money at the expense of loyal users like myself. i do not have the hardware to run an application like spotify, and as a result, i am no longer able to use last.fm. As a rule, i do not spend money for things, but i would do everything in my power to break that rule if only that meant i could use my beloved internet radio - but it doesn't :(

design is ugly, cool sidebar isn't there, layout feels super compressed like there's no space, doesn't scrobble, recommendations are annoying now, and it's harder to view favorite artists and top albums now.
