It seems everyone is trying to appeal to the tablet users these days - large boxes made up of boxy tiles. It's so utilitarian and ugly. I don't want to be sterilized, I want to be fun and creative and social. Nothing was wrong with the way it was before. I don't want my profile page to look exactly like the artists' pages either. That's just really confusing.
And why only five squares for my top artists? And no list of my top 10/15/20? I liked that list, it helped when I was considering friends - how many we actually had in common vs. lastfm's compatibility meter. I'm miserable. AND THE CIRCULAR AVATAR! Completely cuts off my picture! The sidebar - with my logos, pictures, and poetry - has become a 200-character-limit blurb. How is someone supposed to get an idea of me in just 200 letters and spaces? Ridiculous.

I've been using Last.fm sense 2005. I needed to visit the website today after not being on for a couple weeks (rare); When I arrived at last.fm I was forcefully greeted by a welcoming screen for the new beta version. Personally, I'm not a fan. It looks horrendous on a number of levels; As someone else said, it also looks huge and a person like myself with 20/20 vision really has a distaste for that. I can't really zoom out either, I attempted to do this and the website design didn't quite look right. I tried in a few different browsers to no avail. Overall I rank Last.fm's beta version, which is an idea of what the "new Last.fm" will look like, as total garbage.
I haven't quite looked at everything yet, but just the layout design in general compared to what it's been is awful. I feel this is, unfortunately, going to lead Last.fm straight in the same direction as MySpace.com - To see this happen to another one of the best music websites online nowadays would be terrible. I understand there's a lot on the back-end of things with the company; But think about your user-base. It'd be terrible if they go the way of Pandora, while Pandora has a good & free radio, it's not really social at all.
I'm about done with writing this; But I'm glad to be another signature on this petition because I don't support the internet turning to total shit.

One of the worst things that could have happened to last.fm! The update looks HORRIBLE and most of the features I loved are now completely missing from the site itself! We need the old site back NOW

Though I generally give websites' decision to update interface a chance to adapt before I make any real complains, the latest last.fm design is just absolutely horrendous and not user friendly in the least.

last.fm in its previous form wasn't exactly the sexiest site on the web and it had its fair share of issues, but overall, it was a powerful tool with a basic but highly intuitive UI. Now we are forced to use the beta version of a generic-looking mobile-centric mess. Numerous functions that made last.fm so great in the past are either crippled, temporarely disabled or just gone. All for the sake of... well... Honestly, I don't know. This redesign didn't introduce any improvements. Nothing. Literally. One of the strangest cases of website suicide I have witnessed.

Pour que chacune des pages de profil de last fm soit à l'image de son utilisateur (l'avatar et le texte de présentation, bien sûr, mais aussi la mise en forme et les images). Je pense même qu'il faudrait à l'avenir développer cette fonction essentielle plutôt que de la réduire à sa plus simple expression. C'est une spécificité de last fm qui fait tout son attrait et son charme et qu'il faut absolument préserver. Merci.
