LAS VEGAS SHOWGIRL MUSEUM UNDER ATTACK!

This sounds like a tactic from a bitter individual to shut down this museum. Showgirl history deserves to be shared and enjoyed!

Let the Show Girl museum be shown!!

Please help to preserve the museum!

I have been to this fabulous display and used the restrooms. There was zero disturbance to neighbors as special strict arrangements were made in advance.

The history of Las Vegas most definitely includes Showgirls and it should be displayed. I'm a second generation burlesque legend, my mother worked the Silver Slipper in the 50's and I worked Vegas in the 70's. The shows back then were incredibly glamorous and should have their costumes available for viewing, just like the beautiful neon which lined the strip!

This is part of American History. How can anyone not agree with this. Las Vegas show girls are an American icon...and the women who have been a show girl and still are, work very demanding hours between practice and shows, not to mention their own personal lives...how can they just be forgotten.

This museum should not be under attack. It provides a valuable service to the arts preservation in this ever changing city. Someone definitely got this wrong. This museum should be being supported and promoted by this city not scrutinized! It is no different than having tours of Liberace's mansion or even Graceland. I'm saddened that this is even an issue and is wasting the city, courts, and taxpayers time.

This limitation of tours will kill this great museum.

I have been a showgirl for most of my life and it was a wonderful world of costumes dance and friendship . The museum means so much to so many and I would like to think that the city of Las Vegas would look in admiration of the artifacts that have been a part of Las Vegas lifestyle and also what Vegas breathed day in and day out. This lifestyle is slowly slipping away the glamorous life of dressing of shows of feathers and rhinestones and just the night life of class when folks actually dressed for dinner and would not be seen dead in cut off shorts and gym shoes. It was a place to be glamorous. I know maybe some of you that read this may not feel the way I do about this amazing collection of the past a past that really if you live in Las Vegas should and would understand why its important why its the heart and soul of so many performers lets face it without performers would people still come to Las Vegas the taxes the revenues that are on the backs of performers with out performers the world would for me truly stop. Everyones life needs a little sparkle a little fun a little shimmy people came to Las Vegas for that uplifting glamorous side of life . which is now fading so please please why would anyone especially Las Vegas want to erase the past the glamorous artifacts of so many Legends that worked the strip when the strip was truly at its best the days of the rat pack and long leggy showgirls are gone but this museum lovinly keeps that alive it makes people's minds just race to be in the same room of a handsewn and stoned Bob Mackie gown. To stand next to a heddy Lamar headdress to just get a glimps at an original Ann Margaret gown and I could go on and on but I wont what I would like to see is the person that made the complaint and also the person that wont sign to allow the museum to continue show go visit the museum and see for themselves the joy of true beautiful American craft and design. Please keep the showgirl museum running at maximum capacity. It is an invaluable collection of Las Vegas history. Or even better, why doesn't the city sponsor a more permanent building for the museum, like they did with the mob museum? Surely the showgirls shaped the city as much as the mob... Where is the city's respect ?

A rich and important history of our city that needs to be not only preserved but available for the local public and visitors to our town

I have been to the Las Vegas Showgrirl musieum, and it would be a great travisty to limit the number of patrons allowed to view the collection. There are restrooms and there is no entry fee. The collection is preserving a classic Americana artform, please do not erase our history, this is my history!
