The purpose of this petition is to begin a chain of events that will put into effect a law against dangerous, some times fatal, distracted driving of all law inforcement with laptops or similar keyboard mounted systems/devices in their vehicle. Studies have shown that up to 1/3 of traffic accidents CUASED by law inforcement is due to these devices being used by them while in their patrol vehicle. Law enforcement agencies have stated that policy dictates for officers to only use these devices while the vehicle is not in motion. This has not been the case.
