This is a petition for the ban of animals on lap while operating a motor vehicle. Operating a motor vehicle while an animal is unsecured and free to roam is a safety hazard and a major distraction. Animal distractions are as dangerous, if not more dangerous than distractions caused by cellular devices. In an effort to maintain the safety of the public, animals should be banned from roaming freely in a motor vehicle. Animals can however, be placed in a the proper restraints to allow for a safer means of transportation for them as well as for us.
