Dear Mr. President,
We the people of the United States would like to build a land-sailing highway and freight rail road that travels from coast to coast, and up and down each coast, and the mid-west. It would be impossible without a federal plan, and/but the benefits to our economy and environment would be enormous.
Although it might be possible to sail certain stretches of road and railway, our current engineering does not make it viable. Sailing is an excellent way to use atmospheric energy, without losing atmospheric energy. It also slows the air, and allows sediment to settle. By engineering a complete roadway, it would be possible to move nearly everything that can move slowly without the need for fuel, and within an acceptable time-frame. It wouldn't be perfect, and it would be like shipping on a river, but over time, and with adaptation, it would become superbly efficient, and provide so many sustainable, permanent careers.
this is genius. we need to stop relying on big oil and start using the wind. imagine cross country travel without paying an arm and a leg for gas!

LONG OVERDUE IDEA. fix the climate and create jobs at the same time. why are we still stuck in the past when we have all this free energy blowing around?
