Mr. Lander McCoy "Coy" Bacon born August 30, 1942 ,Coy attended Jackson State College for two years and was a member of the famed Los Angeles Rams
Fearsome Foursome of the 1970s. He was selected to three Pro Bowls
during his 14 year career. During the 1976 season he set the
single season sack record of 26 sack. Between 1968 and 1981 Coy
played for the Rams, Chargers, Bengals, and Redskins.
Petition:
We, the undersigned, call on the National Football League, Commissioner
Roger Goodell, and the Professional Football Hall of Fame, Hall
of Fame President C. David Baker and the Senior Selection Committee to induct Mr. Coy Bacon into the Professional Football Hall of Fame and for the official recognition of his
single season sack record of 26 sacks set in the 1976 season.

Seeing this kind of movement confirms that so many of you remember the incredible force Coy brought to the field every Sunday. His 26 sack season is a legend that deserves its proper place in history and now we are finally building the pressure to make that happen.

As a youth I heard Coy speak at a school assembly. His speaking stuck with me throughout the years. As a young adult I had the pleasure of working by Coy’s side at a troubled youth facility. I have learned a lot from this man. He has helped countless others through his testimony and character.
I watched Coy in high school and the Pros, he graduated with my sister. Coy accomplished a lot in the pros. With his accomplishments he is very deserving to be placed in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Coy came to speak at my school ( Lawrence Street ) when I was in the 4th grade and inspired all of us to study hard, play hard and stay out of trouble. He was a great roll model for going beyond the flood walls of racism and see the greatness in everyone.
Coy was a beast I remember him being a Great defensive pass rusher and equally a better run defender I got to meet Coy back in the 90's He was a very nice guy and Did alot with Kids and his church group.Before they counted sacks Coy was right up there with the best in the game as a Defensive End
Coy belongs in the HOF not just because of a remarkable career but for being a member of the famous "Fearsome Foursome" of the Los Angeles Rams with Rosey Greer,Decon Jones,and Jack Youngblood.....Man they were one of the greatest defensive lines ever put together in the NFL...
Coy Bacon belongs in Canton!!His record speaks for itself!

Before sacks were counted Coy Bacon was one of the most feared in Pro Football. From small town Ironton Ohio and being the only person from Ironton to make it to the NFL. He moved back to Ironton and supported youth sports on getting an education first then pursue sports.
