It should be Lee Hugh School named after Lee Fistruct that it resides. That is a different Lee family than Robert E. Lee.

Judging people from another period of another period in time, by current societal standards I believe is unfair and wrongheaded. Lees' greatness as a general is undeniable, his strategy and tactics are still studied to this day. However, that is not the only thing he did. He was also superintendent of West Point and the only cadet to graduate without a single demerit. After the war he took over failing Washington college and saved the school, which was renamed Washington and Lee. He was also one, if not the greatest advocate for reunification after the war. He was also one of the most beloved and respected people in the country for generations.

Wasting taxpayers money on this is crazy when the school board cries how under fumded they are. At the very least the school should renamed just Lee High School so alumni still have a tie to the school.
