We are asking the Los Angeles Lakers to turn down the volume on all recorded music and sound effects played during timeouts, during the game, and during Laker Girl performances, as well as turn down the amplification of the Laker Band.  We are asking to turn it down just a little bit - perhaps 3 - 5 Decibels.  Please also turn down the bass - it is terribly over-driven.  This petition is being submitted by fans who find it physically uncomfortable to sit through the non-stop music and sound effects, and just want to not have their teeth rattled every time the Laker Girls come out onto the court.  We do not believe that a few decibels reduction will impact the "feel" or "vibe" in the arena in any way - just look at the faces of all the fans now when the music is being played - there's no visible evidence that the music is affecting them one way or another anyway.  Please contact the petitioner if you would like information on the history of why this petition is being circulated, and the rational, scientific evidence that the music is causing hearing damage to many fans.

Ron Saritzky. Along with my father, we have been season ticket holders for 52 years. I am an amateur musician, and love loud music, when played in the right venue under the right circumstances (e.g. a concert). But a Laker game is first and foremost a sporting event, and the people in charge at the Lakers seem to forget that. Sure, ing-game entertainment makes the game more fun, but it doesn't need to rattle your teeth.
