The School Board finally folded and scrapped their reckless stadium spending plans. They had no business gambling with our funds while our actual school buildings are falling apart. We won because we refused to let them ignore the truth.

Final supporters
1) LOSD School Board shall undertake a "Facilty Needs" study and take the financial responsible measure of using CET and other funds for critical capital expenditure needs related to core building infrastructure and academic excellence before funding the LHS Stadium Improvement Project as it stands.
2) LOSD Board shall have the current architecture plans of the LHS Stadium Improvement Project re-evaluated with the intention of scaling down the project to a more reasonable cost, and that if a restructured/redesigned stadium project goes forward, then the funds to be used shall be primarily from private donations and secondarily from CET funds and only after "Facility Needs" study priorities have been met.
3) LOSD School Board will not incur debt obligations to complete the LHS Stadium Improvement Project.

The School Board continues to ignore the basic reality that academic infrastructure must come before vanity stadium projects. I am busy drafting formal responses to their latest excuses and will expose their fiscal recklessness to the entire community soon.

The Lake Oswego School District Board has been ignoring our actual building needs while chasing vanity projects. This surge in support proves they cannot hide from their fiscal irresponsibility anymore.

WHY ARE WE BUILDING WEIGHT ROOMS WHEN THE ROOF LEAKS. prioritizing sports over education is just wrong.

The Lakeridge Project is not just about a stadium cover and press box. LOSD also plans to build two team rooms and two weight rooms as part of the project. I am not in favor of this project. There is something wrong with the counter. It was 199 before I sighed and still 199 after.
Keep the spending in check. We have enough debt as it is.
We were recently forced to close several beloved elementary schools to provide funding for programs, teachers and maintenance. We would feel completely betrayed if we now sacrifice that and more needed maintenance to support a luxury sports feature when basic needs are not being met. Maintenance needs to get done. LOJHS is still not capable of supporting the student needs (6th grade gym is held at Uplands). LOSF has already asked us to provide $750 a child to support teachers that the School District cannot provide. That $2.2M estimated cost is greater than the LOSF goal for the year. Year after year LOSD tells us the state falls short on funding our needs. If we spend this exorbitant amount on a cosmetic addition, it invalidates all that the school district has been saying about our fiscal situation.
LHS Stadium Improvement Project opposition due to funding uncertainties. This project was originally under half the now estimated $2.2 million dollar (lowest bid) cost. With no private donations and increase costs estimates, current funding is anticipated to come from unrealized real estate sales and/or debt issue, with a net additional interest burden of $240,000 per year for six years. The total cost rising to greater than $3.5 million dollars. Our district currently has over $24 million of deferred maintenance adversely impacting the district's mission of academic excellence. Ridiculous to spend this kind of money on a sports stadium when our science labs are outdated. Fix the actual school first.
