We ride our bikes around the lake. The Dellwood portion is extremely dangerous. There is no shoulder on this portion. Please complete the trail. Thank you!

The East Metro trail system is one of our greatest assets. Completing the 244 segment through Dellwood will amplify the intention and commitment to provide safe recreational opportunities year round.

I grew up in Mahtomedi and started running the loop around the lake in high school; it is still my favorite loop to run every time I come back to visit. But the narrow shoulder and lack of visibility on the hills in that little segment of 244 still scares me even after all these years, both as a runner and as a driver trying to watch out for bikes and pedestrians. A path on that segment could literally save lives,

Help make the community accessible and safer for all. This part of 244 has always been the most precarious stretch around WBL.

The lake is such a wonderful asset to the community and a safe way to experience for residents is very important. Without a complete Lake Links trail there will be unsafe outcomes.

The new South Shore Blvd segment of the trail is wonderful asset to the entire community, and it would be great to have Dellwood complete their segment for the enjoyable use of their residents and all.

Normally the battle for this kind of improvement is funding. We have the funding, why wouldn't we move forward for the safety of bikers and walkers?

I have been riding around the lake early mornings for the last few years. Years before that, my boys would their bikes to the yacht club to work. Of all the sections of the lake to navigate around, this is the most perilous. You have to literally ride on the road of Hwy 244 with very little shoulder in some places. We cannot let this opportunity of state funding pass. Community leaders need to push this over the goal line. We owe it to ourselves and future generations. Washington County, Dellwood and MnDoT leaders - We are counting on you to compromise and get this done.

I grew up in Dellwood and would bike to the beach a bunch in the summer. But it always was scary biking along 244 with all the traffic. Having a dedicated bike path would have made it so much easier and safer to get around and enjoy the lake.

All good work takes a team and real effort. To ensure the safety of all travelers on 244 it is critical for Washington County, Dellwood and MNDOT leaders to collectively come together in 2023. I travel this section of 244 each week and experience the lack of safe passage for walkers or bike riders on this portion of the road with normal car travel. Thank you in advance for your collaborative work on a win, win project.

We chose to live in the Mahtomedi area for the community, schools and outdoor activities. We would love to see the trail for safe outdoor activities.

This segment is so critical & very much needed! I have an active, young family with 3 kids (ages 5, 3 & 1) & we want & need a safe passageway around the lake.

I grew up in Dellwood and will be moving back next month, and biking was a part of my childhood. However, the traffic along 244 made it too dangerous for my parents to let me bike to my friends' house. Building a lake links trail through Dellwood would be incredibly valuable for young people like me who want a safe and independent way to their friends' houses, as well as to work or event school.

Creating safe routes for those who want independence but can’t drive is critical.
