In a matter of a week’s regardless of sexual orientation, gay, lesbian, and bi sexual armed forces members will be able to serve openly and freely without prejudice along side their straight brothers and sisters in uniform. Congress finally realize it doesn’t matter if the brave men and women who are fighting for this country are gay, straight, lesbian, or bi sexual and as Lady Gaga is one of the more popular pop culture icons who is well known for supporting the gay, lesbian, and bi sexual community, I feel that if Lady Gaga was to do a USO show for the troops serving in Iraq and Afghanistan it will allow gay, lesbian, bi sexual, and straight soldiers and other armed forces members to feel less frightened of the changes and allow them to feel like they have more of a place in the army post 'Don't Ask Don't Tell'. As someone who will soon be serving overseas in Afghanistan in a matter of months I can without a doubt say that seeing Lady Gaga over there would give hope to me, and to the gay, lesbian, and bi Soldiers, Marines, Airman, and Sailors who are finally able to say without reprimand the truth about them selves, it would mean a lot to us as opposed to seeing those who have a reputation of being more negitive in regards to the ‘don’t ask don’t tell’ policy and everything surrounding that issue. Help show your warriors fighting for you over seas that you support them in what is a difficult time for not just them but ALL armed forces members. Even with don’t ask don’t tell getting repelled, gay, lesbian, and bi sexual service members will face more abuse than ever before.
