As i was working today ,i realized that almost all government and state employees were off for two days..paid days..days that we the American people paid for.Am i the only one who thinks this is wrong?I don't get paid for these holidays,unless i work them..yet I am paying these people who we pay their salaries anyway,to stay at home while i work?If you were to add up all the extra holiday pay that we the American people pay out ..what amount would that help towards our state and federal budgets?And don't get me started on all the holidays they get paid off for.I don't mind if they have these days off as long as i don't have to pay for them.I feel everyone should have the 4 th of July ,Thanksgiving,Christmas, Labor,Memorial,Easter day off.Anything else has to be on their time,as is mine.We pay their salaries..why should i pay for them to have all this time off,when our jobs are just as important as theirs?Without us the American people..they wouldn't have their jobs.So as their employer..I am suggesting that we give them the choice to take these other days off ,but without taxpayers paying for it.I strongly believe we could save alot of money this way.
