Having access to a clean, comfortable, and private space for a mother to pump is an essential part of ensuring their ability to balance family and career without sacrificing the health of their baby. Currently, Indeed's home—and home to several artist studios—in the Solar Arts Building does not have an area that fits these needs.

Indeed has taken various steps to negotiate with our landlord in allowing us to build a lactation room while offering to pay for all costs associated with the construction. Still, they have yet to provide a valid explanation as to why they will not allow us to do so.

Our current brewery and rental space layout do not allow for us to create a type of area that would properly suit the needs of a nursing mother, which is why we scouted an unused and neglected corner of the building that would be a great fit.

We believe in a woman's right to have access to discreet and safe options for pumping and breastfeeding so we're asking our community to help us illustrate how important this issue is by signing this petition for us to create a lactation room in our building. This room would affect the entire Solar Arts Building and benefit the 100,000+ visitors that come to Indeed each year.
