Petition for White Flag Lap

This is a petition to return the LACC Series to a format that allows all competitors to “Finish on the Leaders Lap”. This can be achieved by a “white flag”, indicating the last lap, or by a predetermined lap count. This format guarantees every competitor the opportunity to battle for position for a minimum, but not less than 90 minutes in their respective classes until the overall race leader receives the checkered flag. The current format ends the race after 90 minutes. This can prematurely end an opportunity for competitors to fight for position near the end of the race, and give others an unfair advantage to continue on their “private lap”, regardless of any unexpected mishap they might encounter. We respectfully request that the LACC Series be changed back to the original format as it existed during 2009-2011 seasons. This change needs to be implemented to make this series comparable to other national off-road racing events in the United States. No form of racing should be designed to give competitors an advantage or disadvantage.
