This has become a more pressing issue in recent months and years given the misapplied ideology of inclusion which if implemented properly would not be detrimental to women, girls & female-bodied ppl however they identify. Human rights are not a pie.
Just one example: under the current supposedly 'woke' liberal ideology, trans men not on testosterone (the majority) have zero chance from secondary school to elite sport in the male categories, for obvious reasons, when they should be fully welcomed in the female-bodied category. Equally, athletes like Caitlin Jenner should have been able to get the Olympic gold and World record in male-bodied decathlon she did even if she had socially transitioned by then, whereas it would have been ludicrously unfair for her to have entered the female categories and set a world record impossible to ever beat. Not a pie.

Women are women because of our biology (whether we like it or not). We are half of the voting population. We matter.
Our sex-based rights matter because our SAFETY is more important than men’s feelings.
If you back our rights, you have my full support.

I'm still a paid up member of both the Labour Party and Unite but for how much longer is in serious doubt. A glimmer of hope was given in the 2019 manifesto until Dawn Butler gave the game away the next day. So to me it looks very much like Labour are still willing to throw the sex based rights of women and girls under a bus for the sake of the delusional wokeness that is the trans lobby. They will no longer have my support if this is not resolved. I am a woman=Adult human female. IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO CHANGE YOUR BIO SEX. Men can only ever be 'transwomen'. Women can only ever be 'transmen' Both deserve protections under the law formulated specifically for Trans people. Trans rights should never mean giving away hard fought women's rights.

I am a member of the labour party, though sadly it does not represent me with its current policy that males can be women, as that infringes on my rights as an adult human female. Ultimately for me to vote Labour they will have to make it clear they understand people cannot change sex, that women are adult human females, males cannot ever be a women or lesbians, that to think they can is deeply misogynistic and homophobic. If they do this then I will vote for them, under current circumstances sadly I cannot, even though I fully agree with their economics policies and would love to vote for them.

I contacted Kevan Jones, my local Labour MP about this issue and recieved back a thinly veiled 'you are transphobic for caring about women, I support trans rights above all else' type reply that completely ignored what I actually said, and honestly, appeared to be a copy and paste reply that was extraordinarily similar to the copy and paste replies many other Labour MPs sent women on mumsnet. I have always voted Labour, and Mr Jones has helped me a couple of times with certain issues, but due to this reply..its making it quite hard for me to commmit to giving my vote this time. I most likely still will, based on other reasons, I just wish Labour would basically..commit to upholding womens rights.

I've seen the violence from so-called transwomen towards actual women, so no, I do not want to share a hospital ward, changing room, etc with them. I've heard how transwomen talk about women, so no, I do not think they have the faintest clue what it is like to be an actual woman, and no, I do not want them speaking over me or representing me in parliament.

A lot of people's votes depend on this issue, there are an awful lot of politically homeless women in the UK at present as there is literally no political party willing to defend our rights on this issue at present. Terrible indictment of British politics. Shameful.

My vote is going to be determined on this issue and this issue alone. Sex and gender are not the same thing. To pander to a small percent of people with extremely loud voices whilst ignoring the fact women are 50% of this country is ridiculous. This madness has to end.

It is vital that women retain or recover single-sex provisions where necessary and that is recognised as a separate category to gender identity.

While I respect trans people's right to live as their desired gender and to be free from discrimination and abuse, I ultimately feel that women need the freedom to define their spaces according to their needs in the same way that trans people are allowed to define their own spaces. There needs to be open discussion on these issues as both groups are vulnerable to discrimination and abuse, and members of both groups deal with deep trauma, so both sides should try to be open to compassion and compromise to try to find solutions to these divisive arguments. There are no easy answers, but outright silencing those who champion sex based rights just creates a deeper divide that harms both sides.

To whom it may concern,
Please rethink your stance on self identification and the detrimental effect this will have on women’s sex based rights. There is room for all of us in this World, so making change happen to accomodate the rights and feelings of a tiny minority of people at the expense of the rights of a majority of women and girls makes no sense whatsoever, unless you hate women.
So, do you hate women?
Can you find it in your hearts to accomodate the needs of all by conceding that a third space for trans and non binary people must be created. This is merely a common sense approach to an issue that has already been given far too much time, resources, money and energy.
No one will be trampling on trans people’s rights by affording them a third space so that their dignity, privacy and safety can be maintained, but at the moment everyone seems to be happy to trample all over women and girls’ sex based rights to compromise their dignity, privacy and safety.
It’s time this madness ended and a common sense approach is adopted so that everyone can be satisfied; women, children and trans people, that their human rights (primarily safety) are being met without breaching the rights of others.
Thank you for your time.
Kind regards,
Sal.

Sex and gender are totally different things. Women are oppressed because of their sex, women can not identify out of oppression. We need sex protected rights.
