I've held off from joining the Labour Party for months due to the litany of unscrupulous practices that I have heard about from many very long-standing Labour members. If that's how they treat some of their finest members, it's not encouraging for new members.

This Labour NEC’s actions during the recent Labour Leadership election were reprehensible showing no respect for the members. What right did they have to trawl through member’s media accounts, invent reasons to suspend/expel them then act as judge, jury and executioner without allowing any right of appeal? I have no respect whatsoever for this undemocratic body within the Labour Party. I think we all know what their motive was.

It is illegal and also very unfair to trawl social media accounts. Party Members using their own name were suspended with recourse to appeal. Lifting of suspension were done on masse but formal warnings to stay on file. This is not the actions of a democratic socialist party.
