I see no problem with the way we pilots have been parking our ground transportation

The Unattended Parking issue might seem quite a small thing, but what makes it so significant is that it is unwarranted, non-mandated and should never have been instigated. It is evidence of the exact sort of autocratic oversight that is the arch enemy of small airports like kwvi. If you google "violation bail airport", the only small airport you'll find is KWVI. That tells you all you need to know.

I doubt that there is a pilot on record that has been inconvenienced by the way parking has been in the past. The new proposed rule is an unnecessary inconvenience for all tenants.

I don't remember that an occasional car parked outside a hanger has ever been a problem.

The proposed parking rule goes against established precedent that has worked at Watsonville airport for many years. It is also contradictory to recent actions put into place by Watsonville airport management.
For example, several "derelict" aircraft were recently moved to permanent tie-down spots north of hangar row "A". These tie downs created a narrow taxi lane - much more narrow than other taxi lanes on the field when a vehicle is parked in front of a hangar - the precise activity that is being limited due to taxi lane width.
The contradictory and inconsistent nature of this rule vs. other practices demonstrate that it is not necessary. Please rescind it immediately.

The new rule is ridiculous. There is no logical or safety reason for it. There has never been a problem before.
The new rule should be rescinded.
The previous regulation is sufficient and provides safety for all Airport users.

New rules would be an extreme burden for maintenance and repair tasks.

I think 12 hours and NOT blocking access to anything is reasonable.

Appreciate you looking into this Jeremy. I fully support the request to return to the former parking allowance as you've noted is in the 1997 KWVI airport regulations.

The 12 hour rule has been perfectly reasonable since I came to WVI airport when Santa Cruz Skypark was closed. I think later, in 1997, it was added to the rules. But it has always worked just fine. I don't see what is to be accomplished by prohibiting this short term parking in front of one's OWN hangar. For more than 12 hours, tenants can put their cars inside the hangar. This all has worked fine for many years. It seems like the new rule is an orphan solution in search of a non-existent problem.

Thank you for putting this together. It's a silly rule and I have lost faith with the current airport management.

We appreciate you do so much of the heavy lifting on this Jeremy. I hope all the pilot/tenants at WVI see this and respond. I fully support this petition as we need to push back on the bureaucratic foolishness at the airport.

A mistaken interpretation by the Airport Manager (if accurate), or anyone in the regulatory chain for that matter, should not allow to persist to the point of compelling more restrictions to be created, so that's my reason for signing this petition.
