I grew up in Kurnell and my childhood/adulthood I loved riding swimming my horses and walking my dogs in non busy times, Kurnell is a unique place so ashamed that council wants this uniqueness to end. Keep Kurnell a animal friendly suburb so future generations can enjoy the childhood I had, and many other had and crave.

Please relax the rules and laws for Kurnell residents. I’ve lived here since 2002 and have had dogs the entire time, and find it rediculous that the council has targeted the residents since the “dog beach” opened. Most residents are very responsible and value not only their animals but value and respect the place where we live. I would love to see use of the beach for any animals before 8:30am and after 5pm for the residents. My dog who is border collie is not satisfied just walking on leash. He loves to chase, run and swim off leash as he has a lot of energy. My cat used to even play on the beach, I have photos to prove it! Please reconsider and think with common sense. Walking your animals freely is both good for you and your animals. Anywhere else in the world you can take your dogs anywhere. In Hawaii you can hike trails with dogs and horses and in Europe you can take your dogs to the cafes. We are so restrictive in Australia now and it is not our way!

Silver beach ,kurnell has always been a place to take your animals for a swim or walk along the beach . Animals and owners should also have the rights to quite enjoyment of in this out of the way village that many have injoyed since kunell was established.

Keep the beach dog & horse friendly. In over 40 years I’ve never seen any problems occurring with any animals or their owners. Kurnell is a lovely friendly village so please don’t change it.

Kurnell often has different restrictions to the rest of the Sutherland Shire when it comes to development etc, why is this any different? Kurnell is a small, tight knit community, almost village like. Pets are important to families with numerous studies proving the importance to both physical and mental health. By placing a blanket rule on accessing the beach with our fur babies you are restricting people's ability to remain fit and healthy with their animals.
Perhaps stricter fines for people who don't pick up after their animals would be a better option?

As a resident of over 70 years I have never seen any problems created by responsible use of the beach by owners with dogs or horses. In winter and early morning and late afternoon the beach is mostly empty. Let our special life style continue with minimal restrictions.
