I've been a KSHE follower/listener since the station started and still listen all of the time. I loved going to the 66 Drive Inn Theatre with a date and stopping by the old station to buy concert tickets, get Sweet Meat stuff, and hanging out with my long haired rock n roll friends. This station was ahead of its times due to the format and new emerging artists who were not played on the standard radio stations because their songs were too long, controversial, or the artists were unknown to the mainstream. Who could ever forget The Doors, The Who, early Jimi Hendrix, Steppenwolf, Iron Butterfly, James Gang, Doobies, and on and on? The management allowed the DJs to do their thing. As young people trying to become adults, "we colored outside the lines" to form our own opinions.This station helped us to grown up with our own ideas and ways we wanted change the world. KSHE is definitely a St. Louis and Rock N Roll institution just like the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame is itself. It should not only be in the Hall of Fame, but should be the premiere radio station on that wall!

I'm 51 and have listened to KSHE rock it out since I was 1 when my aunt would have it on in the car when driving around while babysitting me. Can't believe we are both in our 50s, but we are both still rockin'!!

A lot of great memories with KSHE! How many radio stations have been around for multiple generations to enjoy? My Dad listened to KSHE. I listen to KSHE. My daughter will soon be listening to KSHE.
