KSHE and Classic Rock had an enormous effect on us growing up in the 70's. Who didn't tune in each Sunday to listen to the 7th Day? Who didn't own a pig shirt? Who didn't drive out to their broadcast shack near the 66 Drive In at least once while they were in high school? If you didn't, then you didn't experience the 70's in St. Louis. If you didn't, then you didn't grow up in the greatest music era. Of course, KSHE belongs in the R&R Hall of Fame.

Loyal listener since 1968 (missed that first year). Honestly, KSHE pretty much shaped my "music life". When I worked in downtown StL back in the 70's, KSHE blasted me up I-55 to work and back home in the evenings. Best way to get thru rush hour traffic. Long live the King of Rock Stations!!!

I am 64 years old and remember the beginning of KSHE. There was nothing like it anywhere. It was fun to go by the radio station in Crestwood next to the drive-in. The station certainly belongs in HOF. I actually thought it was

In 1970 I bought an FM converter for my dad's hand-me-down Chevy so I could listen to Real Rock Radio on my way to U.M.S.L. In the morning, and still listen today. Great move Lern!! The U-man is next!!

It is hard to overestimate the impact that KSHE has had on three generations of St. Louisans, especially those who were touched by rock-and-roll. More than perhaps any commercial radio station in the country, KSHE has carried the banner for the rock album as a cultural touchstone, and continues to dedicate its Sunday evening programming to playing full records on The 7th Day: http://www.kshe95.com/blogs/7th-day Long live KSHE.
