I am 56 started listening in 76 my dad worked at the texaco station in crestwood an kshe gave the gas station LPS to give away with a fill up i still have them all cool memories never to old to rock and roll!

I grew up listening to KSHE. I've lived in several different states and none of them had a radio station comparable. Even now, living in Colorado, I listen to it online!

KSHE95 was the definitive progressive rock, then classic rock n roll station in St Louis from my teen years in the 70s all the way to today! If you were anywhere near the St Louis broadcasting area you had to have your dial at 94.7. KSHE's Seventh Day program on Sunday nites were the best way to hear albums in their entirety, no one else was doing that and in doing so helped people realize that artists had other good songs on their LPs besides the hits that other stations played. I bought a lot of albums because I heard them first on KSHE!

I've been listening to KSHE since 1972 when I found out about it from some kids at junior high school. I would often listen to it on a transistor radio, because our family vehicles did not have an FM radio. I loved that the DJs would play not only new bands, but they would dig deeper into albums to find songs that ended up being as big or bigger hits than the ones the record companies wanted them to play. Unfortunately, I moved away from St. Louis during most of the 80s and there was not internet radio available then and the cities where I lived, Chicago and Charlotte, did not have stations comparable to KSHE. Congratulations to KSHE for 50 fantastic years.

I have been friends with Steve Rosen since childhood and loved KSHE since the beginning ! Steve Rosen is the only surviving original DJ
